Lenovo Seeks Dismissal of Patent Suit Against Asus
Personal computer maker Lenovo on September 17, 2026, filed a request in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to dismiss with prejudice its lawsuit accusing Asus of infringing patents related to wireless communications, diagonal touchpad scrolling and a convertible hinge mechanism.
The suit, filed in 2023, targeted Asus Zenbook Pro and Zenbook Flip 14 laptops. Lenovo had sought damages and a permanent injunction. The case had been stayed pending a related proceeding at the U.S. International Trade Commission, where Asus prevailed last year; Lenovo dropped its appeal of that decision in August.
Spokespeople for both companies did not immediately comment on the filing. Dismissal with prejudice means the claims cannot be refiled.
