Suzhou Court Awards LV 10.3M RMB in Molly Tea Case

The Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court ruled in a first-instance judgment that Shenzhen Molly Tea Catering Management Co., Ltd. and a related outlet infringed seven of Louis Vuitton’s registered trademarks featuring a four-petal floral graphic. The court ordered the defendants to pay RMB 10 million in compensatory damages plus RMB 300,000 in enforcement costs, for a total of RMB 10.3 million. Molly Tea must also cease use of the logo and publish corrective statements on six platforms.

Molly Tea had attempted to register its similar four-petal flower logo but was refused by CNIPA, citing LV’s prior marks. The refusal became final after review. The court found significant malicious intent based on the rejected applications.

The decision, dated around late June 2026, has not been fully published but details emerged via leaked documents and media reports.
