Ric Flair Walks Back Trademark Threat Against Son
Wrestling icon Ric Flair posted a series of messages on social media on May 30, 2026, appearing to threaten legal action against an unnamed family member for using his registered 'FLAIR' trademark. The posts referenced a $1,000-per-hour attorney and warned against abusing the mark.
Flair later deleted the messages and issued clarifications stating he was referring to his son David Fliehr, whose wife operates Green Flair Recycling. He explicitly said he was not pursuing a lawsuit and urged his son to use the family surname Fliehr or his wife's name instead.
The dispute stems from David's involvement with the recycling company and the alleged sale of wrestling robes Flair had previously given him. Flair noted the family relationship had been strained for nine years.
No court filing has been reported in connection with the matter.
