Patagonia Sues Pattie Gonia Over Trademark Infringement
Patagonia Inc. filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Entrepreneur Enterprises, doing business as Pattie Gonia Productions, and performer Wyn Wiley. The complaint alleges infringement arising from the defendant's application to register the mark PATTIE GONIA for clothing, online marketing, and endorsement services.
The company seeks nominal damages of one dollar plus attorneys' fees and has offered to resolve the matter if the defendant withdraws all trademark applications, ceases use of Patagonia logos, and stops selling or promoting apparel under the name. The performer has publicly rejected the proposal and issued an open letter requesting that Patagonia drop the action.
Court records indicate a jury trial is currently scheduled for June 2027. The case was referred to mediation on June 9, 2026.
