Louis Vuitton Wins Trademark Infringement Judgment in China

The Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court ruled in favor of Louis Vuitton Malletier in a civil trademark infringement suit against Shenzhen Molly Tea Catering Management Co., Ltd. and an affiliated retailer. The judgment ordered payment of roughly 10 million RMB in damages.

The dispute involved allegations that the defendants used marks confusingly similar to Louis Vuitton’s registered trademarks in connection with beverage services. The court’s first-instance decision addressed both infringement liability and the quantum of relief.

The outcome adds to a series of enforcement actions by luxury brands in Chinese courts targeting unauthorized use of well-known marks in the food and beverage sector.
