The Kenyan government has tabled the Intellectual Property Bill, 2026, which proposes to merge and modernize separate statutes governing copyright, trademarks, patents, and related rights into a single framework.

The legislation aims to streamline registration processes, enhance enforcement mechanisms, and align national rules with international standards such as those under the World Intellectual Property Organization.
