Jersey Enacts New Trademark Law Effective August 2026
Jersey has implemented a revised trademark law effective August 1, 2026, replacing prior provisions with streamlined processes for applications, oppositions, and renewals.
The changes align local rules more closely with international standards, including updated examination criteria and expanded grounds for refusal. Officials at the Jersey Intellectual Property Office confirmed the law applies to all new filings from the effective date.
Brand owners with existing registrations in Jersey are advised to review portfolios for compliance with the new requirements on use and maintenance.
