India Customs Seizes Large Batch of Counterfeit Footwear

18 July 2026

Indian customs officials at a major seaport have seized and destroyed a substantial shipment of counterfeit footwear bearing unauthorized marks. The operation targeted goods infringing multiple well-known brands in the apparel sector. Over 10,000 pairs were confiscated following intelligence-led inspections.

The seizure highlights ongoing efforts to combat trademark counterfeiting in import channels. Authorities worked with brand representatives to verify the infringing nature of the goods. No arrests were reported in connection with the shipment.

This action forms part of broader enforcement initiatives aimed at protecting intellectual property rights at borders. Similar operations have been conducted in recent months.
