EU Revokes Jägermeister Trademark for Non-Use of Word Mark
The European Union revoked Jägermeister's trademark registration for the word mark on August 28, 2026. Officials determined that the company had not put the word itself to sufficient commercial use, relying instead on highly stylized versions of the brand.
The decision follows examination of evidence showing deployment only in stylized lettering rather than the plain word form covered by the registration. Revocation applies to the longstanding mark for the herbal liqueur.
This outcome underscores strict requirements for demonstrating genuine use of registered word marks in EU proceedings. No appeal details were immediately available.
