EU Operation Seizes €17M in Counterfeit Goods

31 July 2026

An international operation led by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency in cooperation with the European Union Intellectual Property Office resulted in the seizure of more than EUR 17 million worth of counterfeit products.

The Joint Action Day Pirates 4 involved coordinated efforts by multiple agencies to disrupt illicit trade networks. Authorities focused on border controls and online marketplaces where counterfeit items were being distributed.

The scale of the seizure highlights ongoing challenges in combating large-scale counterfeiting operations. Products seized included a range of consumer goods bearing unauthorized trademarks.

This enforcement action follows similar initiatives aimed at protecting brand owners and consumers from infringing merchandise.
