Delhi High Court Orders Takedowns in Zepto Trademark Case
The Delhi High Court on August 26, 2026, granted interim relief to quick-commerce company Zepto in a trademark infringement suit involving fraudulent websites and accounts.
Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora issued an order restraining the defendants from using Zepto’s trademarks, tradename, or any deceptively similar marks in connection with recruitment, impersonation, phishing, or the sale of goods and services.
The court directed the immediate takedown of infringing domain names and websites. It also instructed Meta and LinkedIn to remove fake social media accounts and provide subscriber details within three weeks.
The Department of Telecommunications and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology were ordered to suspend flagged mobile numbers and domain names within 36 hours.
The plaintiffs alleged that the defendants operated fake sites and accounts to mislead the public and engage in fraudulent schemes. The order remains in force until the next hearing, scheduled for February 18, 2026.
The ruling addresses ongoing challenges with online impersonation and trademark misuse in digital platforms.
