Delhi High Court Orders Takedown of Fake Zepto Websites

18 October 2026

The Delhi High Court has granted interim injunction relief to quick-commerce company Zepto in a trademark infringement action targeting fake websites and social media profiles that misused the brand for phishing, recruitment scams, and impersonation. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora issued the order on August 26, 2026, restraining defendants from using Zepto’s trademarks or any deceptively similar marks in connection with fraudulent activities.

The Court directed immediate takedown of infringing domain names and websites. It also instructed Meta and LinkedIn to remove fake accounts and provide subscriber details within three weeks. The Department of Telecommunications and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology were ordered to suspend flagged mobile numbers and domains within 36 hours.

The order remains in force until the next hearing date of February 18, 2026. Zepto had filed police complaints alongside the suit, alleging that the defendants created a false association with the company to defraud the public.

The ruling provides broad interim protection against online misuse of the well-known Zepto mark across multiple platforms and channels.
