Argentina Raises Industrial Property Fees by Nearly 100 Percent

Argentina's National Institute of Industrial Property has enacted Resolution No. 75/2026, raising official fees for industrial property matters by approximately 100 percent. The measure affects filings, renewals, oppositions, and other trademark and patent services administered by the office.

The fee adjustment aligns with broader economic policies in the country aimed at updating administrative costs. Trademark applicants and owners will face higher charges for new applications, extensions of protection, and maintenance of existing registrations.

Similar updates have occurred in other jurisdictions. Brazil's National Institute of Industrial Property recently published rules allowing owners of high-reputation trademarks to group multiple registrations in a single application for recognition. Iraq's parliament approved increases to trademark fees and new service charges.
