Argentina Issues New Rules on Trademark Nullity Proceedings

13 August 2026

The Argentine trademark office introduced updated procedural rules through Resolution No. 215/2026. The resolution sets stricter requirements for filing and handling trademark nullity and non-use cancellation proceedings.

It also clarifies the interaction between these actions and ongoing opposition proceedings. The changes aim to streamline processes and enhance procedural consistency.

The new framework applies to cancellations and nullity claims before the national authority. Practitioners must comply with the updated filing standards and timelines.

The resolution took effect following its publication in official channels earlier this month.
